Render Ur Support

Make Poverty History is one of the biggest campaign being launched tis year in both Britain & America(ONE). It's a fight against Malnutrition, AIDS, conflict and illiteracy for those in less fortunate countries. It is an appeal towards the G8 gathering of powerful world leaders.

The G8 leaders have it within their power to alter history. They will only have the will to do so if tens of thousands of people show them that enough is enough.By doubling aid, fully cancelling debt, and delivering trade justice, the G8 could change the future for millions of men, women and children.

Show ur support, join the site, voice out or simply wear a WHITE BAND

PS: A contact of mine, along with a few of her friends, is proposing to order a bundle of 100 white bands as well as a campaign to spread the Awareness. If u would like to show ur support & get the bands, pls leave me a msg. Will keep u updated. Thank You.

Of Radio, Guitar & Songs

I dunno what came over me...after comin home from chillin out wif bf tonite, i juz had the sudden urge of switchin on the radio. Wanted to listen to LUSH99.5fm cos the latest Black Eye Pea's single "Don't Phunk With My Heart" sounded kinda "Lushy" but somehow a song stopped me from tuning away from my preset Power 98 station. "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down...i've not heard that song in awhile. There was a time that bf will play his guitar and sing it to me over and over...i miss those days...and all those guitar strummings, from the first out-of-tune sounds to when he got it right. Leaves me  all the time.

Then came some other songs and Craig David's Rise & Fall. Then I realised how long it has been since Craig David last sang his single. He's one smooth dude who sings so fine, leaves a great impression dat guy...watever happened to u, Craig? U r one beautiful black singer who dun talk trash in his raps n songs.

Songs...whether they have disgustin or meaningful lyrics, great rhythm or not, most of us relate to them, sometimes finding strength n motivation from them. And memories too can be revived thru songs, they juz mark those moments and make them everlastin...

Pathetic!

My presentation for the X-flies session today was Pathetic! I freaked out! I have no idea why...and I feel crappy abt it. At first, things went pretty smoothly but after 3-4 slides, i got a panic attack! Started to tremble and lost my confidence to speak out and explain to the students about DNA, genes, mutation etc. Everythin was a blur...My team and I forgot to give out the feedback form for our session to the teachers! Err...i wonder wat their comments abt my presentation will be, if they did get the feedback form

Ok, in my last entry, I mentioned abt holograms found in Science Centre rite? Well, here's one photo of One of the holograms that were used to allow people to visualise how bacteria and viruses look like in their 3D conformation. The photo shows the structure of Penicillium, a fungus whereby penicillin is obtained. Looks as if the structure is solid rite? Hmm it's actually not, cos if u try touchin the Penicillium, it's not there!

That's all for the nite....i'm so sleeepy rite now. Zzzzz.....

X-Flies

The project I'm involved in for the Singapore Youth Science Festival.

Instructions for my fellow X-flies mates:
If u wanna download the photos to ur comp, pls go to individual photo, click on the button at the bottom that says "Show Hi-Res", right click on the actual size photo and Save.

Collective & Random

Urghhh!! Juz before i started tis entry, i caught a scene on Nip|Tuck where the super Vain Dr Christian Troy tried to reconstruct his own nose right in front of his bathroom mirror!! So Gross!! Shoved some surgical tools slowly into his nose and urgghhh damn Gross, i can't describe!

Anyways, how have u been guys? It's only today that I found time to sit in front of the comp and read some of ur journal entries and photos! Miss me blabberin in my journal or not? hehee... Well, here's a lil update abt wat i've been gettin myself into for the past week and some of my tots on wat's happenin around me.

Multi-tasking

-Assistant dance instructor

One moment I was scarin the shit out of rowdy Pri 2 students who simply refuse to follow instructions by punishin them, another moment, a buncha Pri 1 students scared me shitless cos they juz wanna be with me and they juz start to climb n lie all over me! Thank God I manage to control them somehow, without pissing off the main instructor. Every moment spent with these children, is a new experience. I love it

-Event Coordinator

I'm involved in the Singapore Youth Science Festival! Started out last Thursday and probably end next week, what I do is to introduce to upper primary school students simple concepts of Genetics n Mutation! It's really fun! These kids are taught how mutation comes about and they even get to check out REAL mutated fruit flies under the microscope! Yesterday, besides doin presentations, I had to assist in another class held for lower Sec school students. They actually get to experience what I did for Microbiology practicals in my Polytechnic years! They handled micropipettes, did Gram staining & bacterial culture (spread plate technique)! So lucky these children are nowadays! Oh btw, if u do visit the Science Centre, please please check out the Microbe section. The Science Centre has put up holograms of different bacteria n viruses there n they r juz way Kewl! Been dyin to take photos of these things!

-NiKE promoter

Bah nothin that interestin happened when I was workin at Isetan Scotts besides tis one occassion when an old Jap guy came up to me and said "Gogrr" "Gogrr". Left me stunned for awhile before he started to show me a swingin action. Ahh! U noe wat he wanted? He was askin me where the GOLF section was!!!!

Wedding

A friend from secondary school got married on Sunday and for that, I finally met up with Siti Sue after God noes how long! Snapped some photos together, which i believe she will be puttin up. So check out Siti Sue's photo page ok. Such a pity we can't meet up, Bada...wanted to catch up with u so much..but no luck lah. Anyways, I wish the newly weds all the best for their Union!

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Sigh...Tis movie...left me emotionally disturbed. Anarkin...so dazed n confused and so easily trapped by the Dark Side! Tis movie is such a reflection of reality. It's so hard to uphold Goodness and it's so easy to fall n be corrupted. There was one point in the movie, when Padme found out that Anarkin has joined the Dark Side, that really got me disturbed. She said that her heart was breakin and the next thing about her was, she lost her will to live on. I asked myself tis question, wat would I do if I were Padme? Lookin at my Lover fall, would I be so disappointed n leave him...or would I stick through and try to guide him back to the right side? I dunno how to answer my question. How abt u? Wat would u do? Would u stand by ur lover or juz abandon him/her to dwell in the dark side?

Organic Chemistry Exam

I finally did Part 2 of my Organic Chemistry Exam yesterday. And i tell u...i felt so upset facin it! The lecturer changed the format of the paper and i had a really hard time answerin the questions! And i made a REALLY stupid mistake! Octane is an 8 carbon structure, but i was rememberin October..10, 10 , 10...i drew 10 carbon structure instead of 8!! ArgHH!!! I dunno if i could pass tis Part 2 paper or not. Felt helpless and disappointed, poor Lydia gotta bear with my whinings and "stupid noises". Luckily bf brought his PSP when I met him after the test, he was spared from my whinings cos my post-exam blues were dissolved the moment i played Hotshot Golf game on the PSP. Urghhh....not gonna think abt it anymore, for now, i shall rejoice cos i passed Part 1. Phew...Alhamdulillah...Hope God helps me too, to pass Part 2.

Secret Recipe

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Restaurants
Cuisine: International
Location:Plaza Singapura@Level 3, Singapore
MENU: Western food with a couple of Asian cuisine.

Main Course: Pasta, rice, fish N chips, noodles and their Award Winning Lamb Stew. I tried their Chicken Meal which consists of Mexican Chicken with Rice+ side salad, Soup, Drink and Brownie

Dessert: Variety of Brownies, Cakes, Ice Cream

TASTE: The whole meal was good, especially my Brownie Walnut! Secret Recipe has been pretty well-known for their DESSERTS but since it juz went Halal, bf n i decided to try out their main courses too. I also tasted the Lamb Stew, reminds me of Sop Tulang.

PRICE: Reasonable esp. the combo meals. The best deal is Chicken Meal-> $14.50+. Lamb Stew meal is $17.50+, that includes one piece of bread, drink and half a slice of Cheesecake.

SERVICE: Good, in fact Great! Was greeted by a friendly Manager, he offered recommendations and food was served pretty promptly. While we had our food, he came over to ask how we find them, then when bf suggested that the Lamb Stew would be better with rice, he brought a scoop of rice for him...On the house. Cool eh? We even had hot water refills for our Earl Grey tea.

SEATING/AMBIENCE: Eatery is right smack in the middle of the shoppin centre with an Al-Fresco feel. Doubt there was any music in the background, was payin more attention to my food and my bf's singin. haha

MY OPINION: Food is pretty yummy, Wide range of desserts & drinks! Flexibility & Variety are Secret Recipe's plus points as they allow customers to choose and request for their own choices of soup, drinks and desserts for meals. Thank God their food is now Halal and thank u Bada for the Great News ;)
I am so well-fed tonite! I'll definitely come back for more!
