Oh Randa, u got me on Fire!

Cairo, Cairo...Singapore's very own Oriental/Middle Eastern/Bellydance Festival kicked off last nite with a concert. I have been lookin forward to last nite's concert since it featured some of the people whom i grew up watchin when i first started dancin, it's nice to see them back on stage and also checkin out new dancers! yes support the local talents! The master choreographers behind the dances were Dr Mo Geddawi & Raqia Hassan for the local babes.

It was a pleasant 1st half, it was like takin a bellydancin tour...introduction to different styles of it. From Finger Cymbal dance->Double Veil->Cane Dance->Hagalla->Milaya->Momo Kadous' candid cane dance.

I am very much entertained by the Milaya dance. i haven't seen it before...it's really cheeky and cute although the costumes worn reminded me of Santa Rinas! Haha! Chirpy chirpy nice!

For the second half, we were presented with one of Egypt's top bellydancers, Randa Kamel. I was Blown away! She is sensational. Her figure was Oooo La La...-guys that means she's not skinny Hollywood type but a full blossom Woman- and her dancin was Masya Allah! Yes she got me restless, and it doesn't help that Jess was sittin next to me durin tis performance. Wooot...Chaos~~~

She makes every move look so good...Very strong dancer! Her hips, her expressions, her costume...Foooh! U cannot deny her STAR QUALITY!! I love it! Now for $19, it was damn worth lah...i think she performed to 4-5 music pieces!! Oooo awesome! I am inspired again!!!

But the one whom i clapped the loudest for, was not the dancers...it was for Randa's drummer. no not because he's cute..because he was Solid! Bloody hell...how did he keep up all those drumming for 45 minutes with what only one or two minutes off the tabla?? He played for Randa, and when Randa went for costume changes, he played too. Man, i respect u dude!! I was already boggled over how tirin it is to dance like Randa but drummin for her, maintaining that energy and bringin it out for the audience to feel the vibes is even Worse! Hats off to him!! S-O-L-I-D!!!
