The Prohibited Pork

Rating:★★★★★
Category:Other
My colleagues recently asked me why consuming Pork is Prohibited by Islam, I cannot quote or lift anything off the Quran for reasons. Aside from being told that pigs are hosts to parasites & are dirty in the sense they are scavengers, I do not know how else to explain. I stumbled upon this vid tonite, by a Christian pastor Mr Joel Osteen, perhaps he has some answers,as well as Dr Zakir Naik, who explains a lil bit more details on the parasites in pigs.

Well, whatever the reason may be...Wallahu a'lam(God knows best), and as Muslims, since we believe that God only choose the best for His faithful servants, it is best that we comply to what he forbids.

Subhanallah!

  1. If I am not wrong, Ada quoted in al-Quran that we cannot consume Babi. Babi cuma menjadi halal dimakan jika there are no other food forms to consume. In another words, for survival. Either in Quran or hadiths if I am not wrong. Read sumwhere.

  2. Al-baqara is 1 of them. Try typing swine quran on google. You'd prolly hit stg amongst numerous results on how shitty islam is (courtesy of osama). If you type holy quran, you'd get even more rants on how islam is terrifying. Heh. Hope it helps. :)

  8. i think there are 5 reasons. :) these are gathered from talking to people all these years.. scientist, medical background peeps, muslim scholars and just people.

    1. hygiene- dirty mannnn
    2. closest to human form- hcnce usage of pigs internals for medical purposes.
    3. burnt pig smells like human- blerrgghh
    4. parasites that can transfer to human bodies- see " House" 1st season
    5. noah's ark- pigs were used to eat all the other animals poopoo... Hmmmm why should i eat something that was design to do so?

There's dif school of islamic thoughts when it comes to wearing pig skin.
    1 says HARAM
another said as long as it is not consumed to be used for the accessibilty of human... so its up to u guys.

My view is that if you accidentally terpakai for many years.. not ur fault and then its up to u to do next.. But if you already know .. its up to u whether u nak was was or not.

    :P

Islam is happiness for humanity.. do not get stress if you dunno. :)

  9. Ooo i thought tis was one of the Hikmah of the pig u noe...especially knowing the heart is of the same size as human's & their enzymes/hormones) are useful to mankind (eg.insulin) besides being outwardly unhygienic.thanx for sharing ur gathering! i didn't noe abt the noah's ark bit, hee that echoes what Dr Zakir Naik shared abt the piggies in India!

i share ur view babe but for me, i'd take the "avoid/preventive" stance so that i don't have to think so much :)
