Ode to the Faithful Departed

For the paths and roads that have been laid out and what u have been through

U probably think they are part of ur future for somethin big, somethin bold, somethin Grand

But what if it is all part of the worldly deception and all those comes to an abrupt crumblin end?

Would u fall for the deceit?

Or

Would u give up everythin n be ready for ur return back to nothingness?

How would u noe?

How would u noe when?

*Al-Fateha for our loved ones who have passed on before us*

  1. One day girl... Definetly it'll be our turn.. Usually this particular song will pop up in my head ;

"Walaupun hidup seribu tahun, kalau tak sembahyang apa guna nya..."

I don't know why but everytime I heard that I'll be flushed with the feeling of guilt. Feels weird that u need a song to remind you of the small little things...

  2. Its all written about us, but the only catch is, we dunno when and we dunno how. We are born in this world with His permission, maybe to prove our worth for His afterlife so, we haveta make the best outta it. A good concoction of ibadah dunia dan ibadah akhirat. But will our ibadah will be enuff for the afterlife? Only He and his angels knows..

But to those born non-muslims, aren't they being short-changed? I mean they cant go heaven when a lifetime they do good deeds even if they're kafirun kan? Pls correct me if I'm wrong..

  3. We can't say exactly where we would be after we are dead. Including the kafirun. Sama cakap orang kafir tak bleh masuk syurga? Sebab ni semua kehendakNya. Let's just leave it to Allah. The scary thing is that, according to ustaz, the kafirs will be sent to 3rd level in hell while the munafiks will be sent to the 5th level. Wallahualam...

Let's pray that we would be free from hell-fire. Insyaallah..

  5. I read that the reason is because they're not doing it for Allah. Example, you're hired to work for an employer. Instead of doing the work set by your employer, you go and help other people do their own work. End of the day, don't expect your employer to give you performance bonus when all the while you're not doing the works set by him. Same concept. They may have done good deeds but for whom? Maybe they get their rewards on Earth.

Whatever it is, agree with Hafi that we're in no position to judge. Allah knows best.

  6. You know babe, when I was hit with my hallucinations or so they called, I came across this song. Very meaningful to me that time.

On a lighter note, Alex will sing it to me when I want something. Hahaha. Bad rite?

On top of that, there's a hadith qudsi that says:
"On the day of Ressurection, God will ask the one whose punishment in the Fire is the lightest. "If you had whatsoever you wanted on earth, would you give it up to save yourself?" He will say, "Yes." God will say, "I wanted less than that from you when you were still in the loins of Adam. I asked you not to associate anything in worship with Me, but you insisted on associating others in worship with Me"

    And Allah knows best.

  10. Thats not quite a good analogy Sue. For example u have a choice to whom u wanna work with. At first place u get employed becoz u wanna do the work set by the employer. If its not to ur standard, u either dun apply or quit. Why at first place will u even bother to apply if u dun like or dun wanna do tat job?

But being born as a kafirun, u have no choice rite? Born, bred and practised as one. Unless he/she has a strong will for a particular reason to convert eg. Alex.

  11. Correct and true.. Subhanallah

But my Chinese fren ever questioned me "Why non-muslims will enter hell?", and how am I to answer him that?

And I been asked this questions before, "Robin Hood steals from the rich to give to the poor. Will he go to heaven or hell for his actions?" and "Mother Theresa dedicated her life to help people. Will she enter heaven?"

U know who asks me these questions! *winkz*

  12. That analogy is given by Ustaz Harun Din, I think, which I read from one of the sites. Actually to me it does makes sense 'cos like you said, we have a choice to whom we wanna work for. Its like saying we have a choice in our beliefs and we act according to those beliefs. If we don't believe in something, why bother doing it right?

So everyone on Earth will be doing whatever they think or believe is the right one. What is right to me may not be right to you and vice versa. It is only during Judgement Day we will be called forward to be accounted for our actions and God will be the Judge. And at that time, God will ask the non-believers to call upon their gods, whom they used to worship on Earth, for help. If on Earth they believe their gods can save them, then by all means go ahead and believe in that. If they do their good works based on their beliefs then get those gods to repay them then.

The analogy may be weak but its like telling you that righfully we are His slaves and should only run His errands but there are others who associate things with Him and run errands for those things. So end of the day, its between them and Him.

  14. Its very scary lah.. Have heard the Suara Bumi? The screams sound more females than males... we ladies prone to go in the wrong direction more easily but NOT necessary so. To me no need to think or judge who will go hell or heaven cause itu bukan urusan kita. Just work towards the right direction dgn ikhlas hati and be patient. But of course lah banyak cubaannye. I am still learning and will still be learning till the end of my life, hoping to be a much much much better person than I am now.

  15. Ahh i came across tis too.
For Robin Hood, good intention but wrong means, stealin is a sin.
For Mother Theresa..hmm she believes in God but she's not Muslim..
hmm we'll what i could say abt these is that if God choose to forgive & have mercy on them, they might have a chance to be pardoned for their sins and go to heaven perhaps.
Well, i dunno for sure..God knows best.

As for why non-muslims is said to go to hell, i think Miss Iqlima's explanation is pretty sound

  17. yeah and when the day comes, would we be caught dead servin or makin connection with God, or indulgin in wordly/sinful affairs or in a tragic state in which we have yet found time to repent?

that was pretty much my concern after seein & hearin abt those who have passed on...
