A Call for CEASE FIRE!

In past weeks we have seen the catastrophic events of the
conflict between Israel and Hizbullah unfold and magnify into a
devastating series of violent atrocities and war crimes. We hear of the
hundreds of lives lost, the homes destroyed, families torn apart and
livelihoods crushed.

This evening, Amnesty International members around the world, our
supporters, our friends and our fellow partner organizations all stand
together in solidarity with those who have suffered in this conflict.
We mourn deeply for the victims and our hearts reach out to their
families to wish them strength in this time of chaos. Our thoughts also
stay closely with those surviving the conflict in the face of extreme
danger, to whom we wish courage and immediate safety.

We call on Israel and Hizbullah to start respecting the lives and the
human rights of civilians, and we implore other governments around the
world to intervene - those who know they can help the people of Israel
and Lebanon - and join our call for an end to this senseless violence.

Today we stand together with a simple message: For all our sakes,
CEASEFIRE

  3. The world today makes me sing this song:

    I saw the morning
It was shattered by a gun
Heard a scream, saw him fall, no one cried
    I saw a mother
She was praying for her son
Bring him back, let him live, dont let him die

    Do you ever ask yourself
Is there a heaven in the sky
Why cant we get it right

cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why cant we live as one

    I saw the evening
    Fading shadows one by one
We watch the lamb, lay down to the sacrifice
    I saw the children
    The children of the sun
How they wept, how they bled, how they died

    Do you ever ask yourself
Is there a heaven in the sky
Why cant we stop the fight

cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why cant we live as one

Sometimes I think Im going mad
Were loosing all we had and no one seems to care
But in my heart it doesnt change
Weve got to rearrange and bring our world some love

    And does it really matter
If theres a heaven up above
We sure could use some love

cause we all live under the same sun
We all walk under the same moon
Then why, why cant we live as one
cause we all live under the same sky
We all look up at the same stars
Then why, tell me why cant we live as one

  5. About recent wars, I was wondering how come we don't have anymore battlefield like we used too? You know the kind where civilians are safe from the war that was happening? Why the heck soldiers uniform is still in camoulage design/colours when they no longer fight in the jungle?

  7. to answer this question, you have to accept that war is a in a continous evolution. trenches of WW2 give way to jungle fighting of VIETNAM and KOREA which in turn give way to desert fighting of the GULF WAR. however the war fought now is guerilla warfare, where the militia pose themselves as civilians. these guerillas are outnumbered, lacking in technology and will not win an outright war if fought normally. so they fight by using the only way they know how, hit abit, then leave then hit again another day. these way they reduce the risk of casualty to themselves. though civilians are protected from the pact of GENEVA CONVENTION, nowadays, nobody cares.......thus the high amount of collateral damge.......
as for uniform, its out of tradition...
