A New Awakening?

Last nite I read that Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew & Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong have decided to vacate their posts respectively. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong shall now be the sole leader to steer our country along with the newly formed cabinet after the General Election.

Is this an exciting new beginning for our Nation? It seems like the Elders are finally listening and finally takin the initiatives to step down gracefully instead of fear-mongering. They have learnt that we are NOT afraid of change...we WANT change!

We dunno for sure what it'll be like in the future, with new directions & new style of leadership. And with all things New, we cannot expect things to be all that perfect either, so we shall learn along the way as a Nation. I hope Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be the present day inspiration of change, similar to or better than his daddy was some years ago. Everyone of us shall remember the elders' contributions to buildin tis nation in the past, no doubt but right now, it is time for our Prime Minister to shine. And for PAP to fulfill their promise to "transform" the party for the better for the people! Also for the opposition parties to up their acts & show that they are worth the seats won for the parliament.

I shall always remember GE2011, it is special even though i was denied the chance to vote. Tis felt somewhat like V for Vendetta, the juggernauts have fallen! Power to the People & Viva la Revolution!

Majulah Singapura!!

  1. Well babe, it means nothing tau since they're still MPs for their respective GRCs. They are just vacating their seats in cabinet which memang bukan milik diorang pon. SM and MM were titles LKY created for himself after he stepped down from PM. Mana ada negeri yg ada SM and MM? Only in Singapore. Who's to say PM LHL won't still be his dad's puppet? For real change, these 2 must quit politics altogether...

  2. hahah yeah only in SG we have such titles! and thank God now we are sayin bye bye to them.
i somewhat juz feel relieved for the PM ( we dunno for sure if he will be the mere puppet still but Officially he's not...so it better be!) & take this change as a baby step forward. perhaps within this next 5 years, the 2 of them will be out of politics altogether, who noes cos as of now, there's even a call for by-elections at the 2 GRCs where LKY & GCT are MPs. Things are definitely gettin more dynamic & excitin ard here...i can only Hope!

  3. but I agree with you, with regards to the political scene where the ordinary joe or Jane is concern, this must be the most exciting ah. I think because we are now better educated on hal ehwal dalam negeri, we are not as passive as we used to be and of course, social media! Love it for being the platform for alternative views.

Yes, I do hope in 5 years time, we can say goodbye to this almost totalitarian democracy we're in. I think I had enough with living in an oxymoron Government. Haha!
