Misunderstood & Antagonised AGAIN??

Sometimes the BEST DEFENSE is NOT TO TAKE OFFENCE

Seek the Truth

May Allah Guide us all in the right path with His Light (blessings, mercy, wisdom, love, virtues etc) & not leave us dazed & confused in facing such things in our daily struggles in this era of Darkness (ignorance, confusion etc).

  9. What happen? Got ppl burn flags again? Hmmmm.
Well, it was said that Muslims are the best people of mankind. So my advice is to talk like the best, think like the best and act like the best. Peace!

  11. i saw demonstrations along the streets of pakistan & don't know which other countries in the news. i didn't see any flag burning again.
wave after wave, our religion is made a mockery(both by the non-muslim who instigate such a vid & the muslims who went flippin mad & those shown in the vid itself)...the cycle juz go on n on.

such a vid makes me reflect on the current (no, actually constant) challenges that dog Muslims since wayyy before, and somehow such always makes my spirit burn to keep on practising & sharing Islam & follow through the good morals of our Prophet Muhammad saw.

to be among the best of Ummah we should keep on improvin and have the best of Akhlaq in whatever crap situation we land ourselves into or people make us go through and deal with them with rationale & wisdom. i guess tis is what u mean too, when u offer the advice yes?

  12. Sigh! I know what I'm going to say next may sound harsh but I guess I have no choice but to say it.

Firstly, Islam is not the only religion that is under constant mockery. I believe other religions like Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism etc have been constantly misunderstood or been treated as jokes by others. But what makes the news sensational is the reaction of the followers. Who is to blame for giving the movie a free publicity? The producer who post the movie online ONLY (havent come to cinemas yet) or the Muslims with their acts of "terror"?

Secondly, what's the point of demonstration and boycotting? It doesnt solve the problem. The world has watched the movie and they are now waiting for an answer. How true are the verses of the Quran that has been potrayed? Does it really exist in our book or is it made up? Somebody answer me then for eg is it true the Quran called the Jews pigs and apes?

If the answer is no its easy for us to retaliate, but what if the answer is yes? What's our defence/explainations for the world? By creating demonstrations etc, you're telling the world you are nothing but a helpless person who have surrendered! And having demonstrations etc are the best we can think of since we dun have the explainations for that poor guy who have misunderstood the religion? Its like telling him yes its true Quran say so n so and I'm angry because you're telling the truth! Is this the best solution?

Food for thought. People make fun of our religion we angry. Now someone lifted up verses directly from the Quran (the book which we claimed has no errors), and we're also angry?

At the rate we're going, its no surprise if we kept going in circles.

  13. yes it's true that other religions and races are under mockery even Dalai Lama and the Tibet monks are now called Evil, not that i am oblivious to them but i am always more focused on Islamic controversial issues for the very fact, i am a Muslim and tis is my religion involved and how should i go abt facing such things. i dun quite adopt the judgemental view of who to blame for causing what, i dun take sides with neither the producer or the Muslims who conduct acts of terror.

for me, tis movie open the eyes of both Muslims and Non-Muslims, some may view it that Islam really teaches their followers violence cos of the quotes from the Quran and no wonder Muslims terrorises others, while some shrug it off and others get angry because they know Islam is peaceful and tis producer is focusing on violence instead of showing people the best side of Islam to the extend of demonstrating or boycotting. it also made me reflect and i actually laughed when the quote "Stop Islamisation" came on screen. As for the Quran callin Jews pigs and apes, so far i have not come across it, i should do more reading on my part.

And thank u for the food for thought...actually it makes me more hungry(to read up the Quran more) than angry!

Allah's our guide, and the best solution is to turn to Him for guidance everytime we feel that we are belittled or confused, that is y i made the doa in my blog in the first place :)

    Ma'as Salama~

  14. Yes, that's the way actually. Hee! I'm not referring to u but rather also a reminder for myself and the rest. I'm juz stating my views as since the times of Salman Rushdie etc, our approach of solving these kind of issues have been the same. It's about time we be proactive and upgrade ourselves. Non muslims are learning n reading on Islam to either seek the truth or find our faults. Instead of waiting to be checkmate by them, we gotta do something rite?

And we have to ask ourselves what have we done to clear the misunderstanding? Having demonstrations etc is not the answer as there will be new challenges to come. Previously it was Satanic Verses, then its the caricature and now this. How many demonstrations and boycottings we have to lead to end all these? The more agitated we are, the more they will rub it in thus its nothing but an ongoing cycle.

In my opinion, frankly I'm not bothered with the Muslims 'cos one way or another we are already guided. We know which is the truth and which is blasphemy. My only concern is the nonMuslims therefore it is important to put ourselves in their shoes and be prepared with whatever questions they may ask with regard to the religion. My question on is it true Quran called Jews apes and pigs are one of the many questions that is on their mind after watching that vid. As a matter of fact, this statement has been on my mind too. Hee!

My reply may be off-track but I juz want people to see the big picture instead of seeing that we are under attack. Juz like what the Prophet saw did to the people of Thaif. Lets not blame them for they do not know what they're doing.

P/S: What's with your goodbye? Hahaha. Ilal Liqa' this Saturday. Haha.

  15. We be proactive & Upgrade ourselves?? OH YES DEFINITELY, insya Allah slowly but surely..it is somethin we have to do to not only gain knowledge, but to strengther our Iman(faith)!
sometimes i "unislamise" myself (NO i'm not a Munafik!!!*to whoever who misinteprete tis statement*) and ask "Why Islam? What's so great abt it and the Prophet and God?", the more i ask, the more i learn, the more i embrace & feel joy being a Muslim albeit sometimes gettin myself confused, it's beautiful.

i also have the same concern as u and i understand ur big picture better now. and everytime issues like tis surface, i also think abt the incidence of Thaif and how the Prophet saw handled it, it always make me feel so sad but strengthened at the same time. Masya Allah, i totally envy his patience & humbleness!

    p.s. my goodbye=peace out lah...teeheehee ;)

  16. So sis, the above statements also been confirmed by Prof Tariq Ramadan, silence is golden. :) And this is also the answers to Hafi and me of our silence. Not to be misunderstood. Worst of all, it might sparks to those people who just waiting to show off their preaching and not practising. Hopefully Allah swt opens to those hearts and open up their paths to peace. Amin...

  17. sometime silence is golden and sometimes we can stand up & clarify.
it all depends on each individual's situations & intention :)
    amin & peace peace~

  18. I refer to the points brought up by dear Suria & your goodself, Cuzzin... Which I totally agree...

However we feel about what was done, it's more important to seek for the Truth and brings out the Peace... I believe that's the essence of our Religion. By behaving this way; screaming injustice, forcing our views on others and burning flags BUT yet not reflecting nor seeing the situation holistically, it'll only be detrimental to the other party's views on us and then siapa sei kuasa nak layan??

"Kalau menepuk air di dulang, Nanti terpercik ke muka sendiri."

I can't help but quote from your beautiful prose in ur next entry:
"Pursue, pursue knowledge abundant and stream them out with a heart full of humility & sincerity
Observe the harsh reality yet hold back brutal critics for respect & sensitivity"

  19. yeah tat is why we have to be calm, reflect, see things through objectively & respond with the best of conduct/manners, especially so, if we want to correct a certain situation, should we choose not to keep a silent protest.

thank u for appreciatin my lil writings...reflections from lessons learnt from all the happenings around, and greatly inspired by the wisdom shed by Prof Tariq Ramadan. may God bless him & all those that have been inspiring...
