Relentlessly Holdin On

Tis past week had been quite crazy at work, rushed & hushed. All's not goin too well, even the manager felt the crunch. So much so that she lamented "We need a HI-TEA!" and that's what we did on Fri, stress therapy in the pantry with cakes, ice-creams, fruits & tea. Major need of comfort food...and that's a prelude to all good food to come in the week end!

Oh and i finally ran 3km after all that eating in the pantry but soon after burnin those calories, food indulgence resumed. It continued with catchin up with my secondary sch galpals at Giraffe, then hangin out with Raf, Dee and Missy Liz on Saturday followed by Sheida's PiNK birthday celebration at Seoul Garden. My Faraid class ended today so we had a lil makan-makan too before I met up with my maternal younglings at Raffles City to grab some donuts from J.Co to munch on at the gig by Amateur Takes Control at Esplanade. We plonked into SOur Puss for dinner afterwards and my God, tomorrow will be another makan session with the Man Bitch & his sweet girlfriends.

Music by Amateur takes Control really grows on me..the last time i caught them, it was at The Art House, that time it was a solo opening act for The Brandals. Today, there was a whole band and my, my very nice! My young cuzzins were also enjoyin the music. Sour Puss played Janet Seidel..i was in MY zone...what a nice way to end the week end.

Tomorrow till God noes when, work will be hell. Just gotta keep on breathin despite all tis achin from my running AND despite all the happenings goin on, i Miss my TOKYO boy lah. He's totally enjoyin his trip, i noe. Can't make phone calls as often we wish we could, and i hardly see him online too. Enjoy all the sakuras (not sakura-chans eh!*show fist*) while it last, i'll be sloggin my ass here in SG while awaitin ur return.Aren't u a lucky devil to escape all my bitchin & whining? heh. i so noe i'll be dead beat from tomorrow onwards, it'll be hectic but i'll SUCK IT ALL IN! Grrr

Salam Maulidur Rasul! A link to these animations have been my MSN subnick for the longest time since Iyuan showed me to them, but i guess it is real approriate to share the vids with all of u here on Multiply, in conjunction of the Prophet's birth month, Rabiul Awwal in the Muslim calendar (his birthday was yesterday, 12th Rabiul Awwal).

May these videos take u closer to get to noe who is and how Muhammad saw is like, he who raised from an illiterate shepherd to someone so worthy to emulate & the shining beacon of Islam! It took me years to learn his History but these brilliantly done videos summed it up real well, and u can learn abt him and what he & his followers went thru in less than a day! Masya Allah! Make some time to watch them ok :)

The past couple of weeks have been rather grey and rainy, includin today but we were truly blessed yesterday...the Sun was beaming and the Clouds were all floatin nicely in the glorious blue sky, while we were at Pulau Ubin!

After reading souldollsgarage's blog entry today, i decided to do a search on Yahoo search & Google for my user Id: firestarlet. The last time I googled, almost every firestarlet traced back to my Multiply site or my responses to other Multiply users but today, using the new Yahoo search i had new stumbling upons, which i thought was rather startling.

I never knew that anyone or website administrator would keep tab of the usage statistics of my site, so when i found my Multiply journal being in the Top 100 of 1380/1371 Total Referrers over Dec 07(no.55) and Jan 08(no.59) respectively at some site,i was Shocked! My first reaction was WHAT in the world IS a REFERRER? After readin a few definitions, i am still ..obviously i dun quite understand what the definition means. Hmmm one of them is:

Referrer- Used in Web analytics, it is the URL or IP address that tracks where a visitor to a Webpage originated (e.g., previous page, link from another Web site, or search engine

The next question is WHAT is WEB ANALYTICS?

A generic term meaning the study of the impact of a Web site on its users. E-commerce companies often use Web analytics software to measure such concrete details as how many people visited their site, how many of those visitors were unique visitors, how they came to the site (i.e., if they followed a link to get to the site or came there directly), what they searched with on the site's search engine, how long they stayed on a given page or on the entire site, what links they clicked on and when they left the site. Web analytic software can also be used to monitor whether or not a site's pages are working properly. With this information, Web site administrators can determine which areas of the site are popular and which areas of the site do not get and can then use this data to streamline a site to create a better user experience.
