Take Time
Something that makes more sense at tis juncture of life than ever before. What the hell was all those rushing for?
Take time to Think – It is the source of all power
Take time to Read – It is the foundation of all wisdom
Take time to Play-It is the source of perpetual youth
Take time to be Quiet-It is the opportunity to seek God
Take time to be Aware-It is the opportunity to help others
Take time to Love and be loved-It is God’s greatest gift
Take time to Laugh-It is the music of the soul
Take time to be Friendly-It is the road to happiness
Take time to Dream-It is what the future is made of
Take time to Pray-It is the greatest power on earth
Take time to Give-It is too short a day to be selfish
Take time to Work-It is the price of success
Take time to show Appreciation – It is the frosting on the cake of life.
Alhamdulillah.....

A childhood friend, a whimsical Wedding!
I wrote tis for my wedding planner on 28th Feb 2009:
things that make me hyperventilate:
pinks & blues, tea cups, roses & peony, birdcages, moroccan lamps, laces & pearls...ahhhh~
THEME for Reception Deco: Old World Charms (Elegant, warm & vintagey classic feel) or Shabby Chic (i dunno how to describe...somethin old/mediocre given refreshin, sweet with a hint of girly fun twist!)
hope we can somewhat combine some of these elements for our wedding deco with L.A.B bridal!
Somehow Kak Lynn manage to tweak ard with her stuff & came up with somethin beautiful for me & Iyuan for our weddin then. It didn't feel too much Old World or was it tt Shabby Chic, juz a touch of those here & there but I was definitely a Happy & Glowin bride!
Today, on 27th March 2011, i hyperventilated & my hands shook so bad the moment I entered Izsra's weddin reception! I was soo soo charmed!!! It's almost like what I had in mind for my own wedding!! I wanted to jump for joy, twirl ard with her, hug her & tell her how wonderful her reception felt!! But I had to control myself (as usual). It's so wonderful tt she found a vendor who can offer her such whimsical decor!! Food was superb & with Maher Zain songs played for the reception, ahh everythin felt so serene & beautiful!
But most of all, i'm so Happy for her to be blissfully married too & lookin so gorgeous! Congratulation Izsra & Faizal...may u have many many fun adventures ahead together!!

Charles LaBelle | Public Intimacy (Singapore) 2010-11
http://public-intimacy-contd.blogspot.com/
Charles LaBelle works are currently displayed at the Old Kallang Airport building for the Singapore Biennale 2011. This is his collection of drawings of buildings he has entered in Singapore.
Very nice with phrases some times too bizarre for me to understand. Nevertheless, welcome to Singapore, through the eyes of tis artist.
One tt draws some fond memories for me:
"palimpsestic architectonics, as well as in the spectatorial promenade. The loci of the art of memory bear the peculiar wax texture of a "filmic" set-a site of constant redrawing, a place where many stories both take place and take the place of memory"
somewhat i understood the lines in Bold.
More works worldwide:

Yes the frightening lil place is my Home
Seth Rogen, American comedy dude's impression of Singapore
There's no place perfect but a Home is where the Heart is. I love it here no matter how we bitch & complain abt the weather, the people or the Govt. And yes, so far, it's been so good.
Desserts@Le Chocolat Cafe
Iyuan said eateries with all that ambience have service that sucks. He's always right, i'm always bummed. Those in Ann Siang always fail us in flying colours (except Shots@Ann Siang Hill which i went to with Shasya)!
Le Chocolat Cafe is no different. The small seating area inside was all occupied by a bunch of chirpy middle-age people, so we had to go al-fresco & nobody came to serve the table, so i figured ok tis is a cafe perhaps I should order from the counter. But when another couple arrived at a table behind me, they were given menus, and orders were taken & they got served really fast (maybe cos they were more visible to the staff inside the cafe).BUT there was no excuse for me to wait for a terrible 30 mins to be served when the no. of customers were subsidin, not full-house. It sucks tt I have to go order my food on my own, and simply to take the cakes out of the display & make mocha by the staff take tt long! I stormed in & asked the cashier why they take so long to serve our food. A hungry woman is an angry woman! She said "oh! sorry we'll serve them soon." 2 minutes later...Her colleague came out and asked me "Sorry ma'am what was ur order?"
The young Malay staffs were obviously not attentive especially the cashier! I nearly wanted to say "Pls dun make Melayu more layu in the service dept!!!" but i held back. Thank God i didn't have PMS!
The Ice Mocha came too bland, the cakes though nice don't taste fresh. My raspberry chocolate cake had uneven dry spots, like it's been refrigerated for some time.
Worst first impression ever!

InstaGuilt
Tis past couple of weeks, i have been happily uploadin pics of things & food on my Instagram profile (yes i'm adaptin better than expected to my iPhone! lol any of my contacts here also on Instagram? add me! user:firestarlet). it's so delightful to be part of tis community as it is full of pictorial wonders! yes pics of people, food, flowers & everythin under the sun that make the heart warm with creative wonders & inspirations! It was not until the meat feast we had at Senor Santos that the guilt hit me.
Recently i have been goin thru the page #prayforjapan to see pictures put up by people in Japan as well as all ard the world to show solidarity with the nation as they face the aftermath of the recent 9.0 magnitude earthquake & tsunami, and what could be a nuclear meltdown after 3 nuclear reactor leaks in Fukushima. I shudder after lookin at pics of empty rows of supermarket shelves in Tokyo, i thought how insensitive could i be, i have a follower from Japan.
I feel so sorry for the Japanese for havin to face such a difficult time. But it is really admirable how they are copin with much calm & order. If such calamities were to happen here, God knows what kinda ruckus will take place. I hope that they won't face nuclear meltdowns & undergo anythin of Chernobyl magnitude. Juz the thought itself is so so scary! Food, water, environment... the whole ecosystem & food chain will be afftected, not juz in Japan i bet, for the rest of Asia too!
As much as I am hopin & prayin for the Libyans to be liberated from the clutches of Gaddafi's ruthless ruling, as well as the rest of the freedom fighters in the Arab nations and for their sufferings to be over....I felt a lil bit more for Japan cos Tokyo left quite an impression on me. The food especially, i juz fell in love with the melon ice-cream there! Sigh...and of course the beautiful peaceful lil town of Hakone. I really pray and hope that things will get better for them.
I dedicate my plate of chilli sauce to them! May ur spirits remain feisty as u face tis calamity!
