MARCHin on...

How quickly time passes...we are into the 1st quarter of 2008! Hoho! I haven't done much writings and am pretty much occupied with juggling work, weddings, class n perhaps catchin up with a certain few. heh.

So juz a quick update before I scoot to the Wise Up to Money seminar...February's been quite eventful... a certain news was blurted out to me, that made me wanna shake-up my priorities and get off tis slack track. After the missed opportunities of workin for both the Stem Cells lab & Creative Kids, i decided to reverse the buggings of workin full-time in my current company with my manager. so instead of my manager buggin me to convert, i decided to bug her to quickly employ me! hah yes, after a few negotiations...hurhur...yes lah, i'm back workin full-time at this very same company, contributin my verve to churnin out more HIV and other infectious disease diagnostic kits...with a way better pay tho i missed out last year's AWS and performance bonus! hehehe nvr mind...Alhamdulillah!! i noe, it's not somethin that i fancy, not even my dream job but hey, with a reasonable pay tis time to keep me motivated and after weighin out the pros n cons, i say...Just Do It man *thanx Ned, Dee & Mesye for ur lil advices*! things are lookin up anyway over here, production volume is multiplyin n week end's been fbusy with OT! OT! so yes i guess, things are settlin in...but no more 4 day work and lil week day rendezvous or photoshoots with mesye...oh well, for a greater good, we shall grit our teeth n bear with it!!

and good news too abt my mum...her biopsy results came out as negative for breast cancer...so phewww another Alhamdulillah and great relief for me as well!

fitness wise...i have braved myself to sign up for weekly runs ard Science Park...3km for a start..in 2 weeks, hee i've even gotten myself new shoes!! gotta work on my physiques again man, lil wonder why i've put on extra flabs ard my tummy n arm and sufferin from knee pains etc*blame it all on those yummy food!*. sheesh only 26, and becomin like an old hag already..pain here, pain there...ache here, ache there..tired ever so easily! gotta do somethin before my sedentary lifestyle consumes me...completely!

so hee..if u dun hear from me much in March, excuse me while i go thru a lil revampin in my Life department!

After the adventure walks through Jln Hang Jebat, i aimed to conquer the road on its opposite side. Yesterday since Iyuan was free, we did juz that, right smack in the afternoon, where the sun and clouds played peek-a-boo with us.

Ahh so nice to be strollin abt in such luscious greeneries,where the birds chirp & the air's so breezy...the people we bumped into were friendlytoo. We ended up at COLBAR in the Wessex Estate. I felt like I have been transported back into a bygone era, an ethereal arena...where the thème du jour is CAREFREE, that fits the very soul in me~

Love's in the air but tis love, many tend to overlook

Self Love

somethin that i feel is what low esteem individuals LACK.

few weeks ago, i talked to a classmate who is one of the most low esteemed individual i ever met. although a nice, helpful lad, he asked me "am i so bad?" his question took me back to one of my lab sessions in Aussieland, some of his antics there and some of the things he do. i took that opportunity to "save" him from goin deeper down that dark hole of depressin inferior feelings. his problems mainly were: he is always apologisin and try so hard to be in people's good books hopin to be accepted as their friend. one of the things i told him is he has to practise SELF LOVE. i told him, every mornin u see the person in the mirror, u say somethin good abt that person. somethin self-lovin. he asked me "sophie, is tis mental psychology thingy?" i firmly replied "YES". he had difficulty tryin to find words to describe good things abt himself when i asked to rehearse with me what he would say the next time he look in the mirror. then we discussed on how positive minds can affect our personality and bring out our confidence, even boost our health. everythin starts with YOU, YOUR OWN SELF.if u don''t feel good abt urself, not confident of urself, u keep lookin at urself in negative manners sayin "i am fat/ i am stupid/i am ugly etc." and loathe everythin abt urself, eventually everythin abt u will turn negative! and it's NOT GOOD!

Yesterday while browsin thru Mind Your Body section of The Straits Times, i stumbled upon an article abt SELF LOVE. WOW! what i spouted to that dude was spot on! even Aristotle believed in SELF LOVE and that a good person should be a self-lover [1]...but i believe EVERY PERSON SHOULD BE A SELF LOVER! there were some philosophical quotes he wrote but i can't quite remember exactly...it said somethin like friends are other selves that are an extension to ur own self! How true how true! I love his point of view on tis and that every self lovin person is not what people now perceive them to be. it is not to be mistaken with bein self conceited or narcissism. a self-lover seeks true personal goodness and aim at a virtuous life that consists not only of health and prosperity, but also of magnanimity and amiability[2]. So on tis V-Day(ok by the time tis gets published and read it'll be post V-day) i would like to reach out to all my loved ones with tis message:

LOVE URSELF EVERYDAY & BE UR OWN BEST FRIEND!
