ReplyDeletei SUCK at tis...much worse than surfin!
elvewt & shasya: the tour operator i followed was TM Fouzy travels, its office is located at Golden Landmark. I think the holiday packages are rather reasonably priced, here's the website addy, http://www.tmfouzy.com.sg/

ReplyDeleteyeap, my first touch of snow was at Great Wall! then there were a couple of other places with snow too (man-made churned from machine) but unfortunately, i didn't getta see snowfall...
ReplyDeleteyeah remind me of book covers & scenes of period dramas on ch8 but tis is the real deal!
ReplyDeletePeking Duck rolled in popiah skin...nice!
ReplyDeleteoo no no...the traffic there seems ok, not pollutin but it's winter time & the air is COLD especially when the wind blows so we cover our noses & mouths to keep em warm, if not mucous will start comin out of e nose & lips start to crack...n they'll juz go numb!
ReplyDeletesweet & crispy outside, soft & sour inside...taste somethin like strawberry!
ReplyDeleteoh u betcha!
ReplyDeletehaha tis is after we scour thru the dark lanes around our hotel!
ReplyDeletetis muslim restaurant itself is an adventure, food adventure, as we tried their "roadside satay" which is basically grilled chicken wing/lamb meat marinated with salt, herbs & chilli flakes (sounds boring rite?) but its bloody HOT(the kinda hot that makes u feel like u have Angelina Jolie lips for awhile) n yummy! kinda addictive too, especially in the freezin cold weather.
heyy tu short cut! not fair! hahaha
ReplyDeleteoutta go,shasya! it's Majestic!
ReplyDeleteyeaps...land of oriental exotics! psst tis restaurant offers nightly belly dance performance too ;)
ReplyDeletei think it is part of Xinjiang to blend Arab & Chinese cultures, which they have brought into Beijing too.

ReplyDeletei think they followed the USA system. anyone there on pr or temp worker have a freakin GREEN CARD with the word marked ALIEN on top. very the discriminating......
ReplyDeletewah.. happening sey. bila i punyer turn. U guys look like you had lotsa exercise and fun. Would you return to Beijing? or prolly go around china.... one day?
ReplyDeletebeautiful.... hope to see more travels yaaaa? :)

ReplyDeletewow sophie! somehow the view reminds me of an old shrine at luxor! hahaha i know its way diff but the stairs and the temple were built strategically similar :) strange...
ReplyDeleteno!!!! hahahahaha seriously? how'd the photo turn out?
ReplyDeletepandai cik wiwi! it's for the ease of puttin on n removal of the bangle! and yeah need at least a finger sspacing when u put on the bangle for a perfect fit.
ReplyDeletedunno if they even feel cold tak...look at those long coats! one of em sure looks like it's sleepin snugly under the tree! gerammmm mcm nak terkam je!
ReplyDeletetoilet seat covers for hygiene purpose!
ReplyDeletekeluarga empat...PASS! *lol*
ReplyDeleteehh? is that right?! thank God Singapore do not resort to callin foreigners/expats aliens. sounds so hostile.
ReplyDeleteone fine day i bet!
ReplyDeleteyeap sure had fun, good to be able to do some physical activities rather than freeze my butt there in China.
babe, what u told me abt China is so true! Muslim eateries are Everywhere, in Beijing at least! Halal halal! eheheh
yeaps would love to return to Beijing and visit other parts of China, especially Suzhou(heard the scenery there even better!) but I'm aimin to conquer other parts of the world first! Insya Allah!
in luxor, shrine je dah mcm ni? wahh lumayan!
ReplyDeletei've yet to see the grandeur of Egyptian empire remains live before my eyes, lucky u had the chance to study in Egypt!
photo turned out like tis:
ReplyDeletewheee fun fun!!
hehe awak, kita salah la. i looked thru my album, its queen hatchepsut's temple at luxor. the shrine is - of course - way smaller. heh! and the valley of the kings, which is actually kubur firaun2, is as big as the whole stretch of orchard road!maklumla, firaun kan kaya! :)
ReplyDeletehee the queen's name made me gelak, mcm tongue twister sikit. wahh valley of the kings as big as orchard road?? i must go see, it'll be soo cool!!
ReplyDeletehehe it does look like fun! babe, yang pose mcm crouching tiger tu awak ke? :p
ReplyDeletekita yg mcm flyin crane nak tumbang! *lmao*
ReplyDeletemust go! egypt tu besar sangat. i went travelling during the semester break. kalau ada time,i upload the pix. i'm sure u r gonna love the scenery!
ReplyDeleteExcellent scenery captured....makes me want to go iceskating hehe..
ReplyDeleteLove your trip pictures!!! Gorgeous sceneries and places of interest!!
ReplyDeleteare you guys channeling the characters from "Journey to the West?"
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS CUTE!
that is true, however the more fragile China jades are more valuable, Myanmar ones are harder and can be crafted to be shaped like butterflies, knots etc etc... but don't be conned they are not as valuable as China jade even if they are dark tone
ReplyDeleteto test good jade: it must be cold to the touch and when you tap the jade piece with another jade piece the sound is like crystal... like a fragile sound that it might break...
(this is what my jeweler tells me ( I have a couple of butterfly jade pendants from Myanmar in my collection) hehe)
wah that's creative thinkin shasya but hee we're merely goofin ard...hehe
ReplyDeleteglad i have fun young ones with me durin the trip to go a lil gila with. pheww~
yeaps tis is one of the most captivatin scenery there!
ReplyDeletehee u try to go next winter & bring along a pair of skates lah..but must be very careful, before the 22nd of dec, the ice is too thin to be walked on, accordin to my tour guide.
ouh hey sheikha!
ReplyDeleteglad u enjoy em :)
ahaha yes, we were taught that n went tappin abt the jades at different stores to test their sounds. hurhurhur
ReplyDeleteokie so China jade still more valuable aye? kewl!
ema: i dun get it..asal drg tk call foreigners je? erm..aliens?? make us sounds like a freak je gitu..
ReplyDeleteema: hw can we knw if d ice can be walk on? by lookin bole tahu tak? so cool!
ReplyDeleteema: omg..by the look of it im tired already!! aniway..since u complete it..well done!!
ReplyDeleteema: dis lil fella seems eveywhere! hahaha!
ReplyDeleteanyone non-chinese is a frreak for them, same as the US ppl as well!
ReplyDeletei dunno how to judge how solid the ice needs to form by juz lookin but u can try put ur weight on the ice! one of my tour group member did that with the lil frozen fountain in front of my hotel...only to find his foot & shoe soakin(freezin) wet after that when the ice layer gave way! t'was a hilarious experimental moment!
ReplyDeletetirin but awesome experience babe! thank u!
ReplyDeleteThis is truly an eye-opener!...Subhanallah...
ReplyDeleteFrom what I know, these figures represent the Royal Ladies' status...the more the higher their status in the palace.
ReplyDeleteI only get to see this place in dramas, you get to see the real thing. How great!
ReplyDeleteIs this the place where gold is like everywhere? Including the poles?
ReplyDeleteoh is that right? i see these on almost every roofs in the Forbidden City.
ReplyDeletei dunno if the gold on the ceilings & columns are real solid gold but yeah many many gold everythings there! gives a very grand feeling!
ReplyDeleteahh yes, I sure remember that stadium on TV, quite a structure .. great shot of your "passenger" too!
ReplyDeletethank you,
gordon
