After the few lovely days in Prague, we set off for Vienna, the capital & the largest city of Austria. It was a Sunday, and findin food was hell....as alot of shops are closed on Sunday in Europe. The streets were pretty dead & it was rather cold. Just ventured ard the area we stayed, which is in the Neubau District. Lotsa hip shops ard the area, somewhat reminds me of SG's Haji Lane & Ann Siang Hill but way cooler! We found the Leica shop Iyuan was looking for but of course it was close. Poor him just could look longingly into the display window at the cameras on display.
On the next day, we decided to explore further! I After brekkie, we went to the Leica shop again & the hipster mister got himself the coveted M7. Then headed to the Hundertwasser Haus. I made it a point to go there when in Vienna, not the churches & fancy places but that particular apartment. There i felt great joy celebratin the art of Mr Friedensreich Hundertwasser's, the man who said that straight lines are considered GODLESS! Woooh! Love it!
Then we went to Prater, an amusement park with a really old observation wheel, which i call "the prototype to the fancy London Eye or Singapore Flyer". Really nice, the cabins are made of wood! From there we headed to Stephenplatz, the more well known area of Vienna & where there are way many tourists & shopping maniacs. And I have to agree, in Vienna, people are all well-dressed and embrace colours! Locals or tourists, I can't quite tell but people do put some thoughts into what they wear here, casually yet stylishly!
We ended our second day in Vienna plonkin ourselves in comfy couches of hurhurhur...Starkbucks, for the love of wifi & it was one of the latest shop to close at the plaza. So yeah tt's how our first 2 days in Vienna went.
