It was a grey mornin with slight drizzles on 20th July, it must have been very windy & rainy the nite before as we saw a couple of brollies strewn onto lil shrubs near our hotel. We headed to Kyoto hopin that Typhoon Ma-on would not spoil our sight-seein. On the way there, we saw rivers flooded with strong water current flowin thru...We could only pray hard that our Shinkansen train journey would be safe & smooth & definitely do not want to be caught in the flood.
We were graced with safety & upon reachin Kyoto, it seems like the typhoon has moved on... After droppin our luggage at the hostel, we rented bikes & cycled our way to Kiyomizu-dera Temple & the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine. Oh i so love the streets & sceneries of Kyoto! They simply exude tis peaceful & tranquility feel on me! I think hubby felt it too! Cycling is prob the best way to assimilate them all...givin my weary heels a gd break as the heart is filled with delight as we peddled on! That nite, we went Geisha-spottin and saw 3! All moved ard sneakily & shufflin rather quickly...Kejap ada, kejap tak de...No chance to snap a proper pic of em, especially in low light!
The next day we went over to Osaka to meet my online friend. Like a blind date not knowing how she looked exactly & with a tad bit lost in translation Jap-English, we met over Shabu Shabu and she took us ard Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori & Nipponbashi. It was a fun experience! I luv networkin with like-minded people online...So far thru Multiply & Instagram, I have awesome company!
The next day we made our way to Lake Kawaguchi, which has its own set of charm as well! Anyhoo I cannot get enuff of Kyoto...i think we left too fast....Unlike Paris, our first impression of Kyoto was lovely! Perhaps we shall return.
